Some good times…

So, it’s been a fun adventure starting up a studio in Az. At least I’ve found some great models to work with. Below is the first of a stream of photos I’m pretty proud of.

A long ago shoot

I’d worked on this shoot a long time ago, late 2009 I think, and I hadn’t really revisited it till the other night. I’d like to do more of these but must first find a model willing to do it…

Site Maintenance

Well, I tried to be diligent and commit to routine maintenance on my site but it has backfired. Apparently one of the small files that’s incredibly important never backed up correctly for my blog. The backups themselves are incompatible with the new blog software so now I’m stuck rebuilding. So…just bear with me while I go through this little growing pain. Hopefully it’ll be useful again sometime soon. Blah.

Starry Night…

So I went to Carlsbad, with the sole intention of watching the bats and taking random shots. I walked around for a bit trying to take pics of signs, cacti, and pretty much anything else and not much was coming out for me. I haven’t gone into the caves yet – but that’ll be for another post. So nothing was coming out till on a whim I aimed upwards at the sky. I got this:

This gives me another area of photography to explore.

Wow, it’s been a while

I didn’t realize it’s been over a month since I’ve posted. That’s unfortunate.

Another realization I’ve had is that I haven’t seen the Polka-dot wasp moth this year. It was a rather interesting creature. At first I mistook it for a rather exotic and potentially hazardous wasp – but upon further investigation it was just a harmless day living moth. I wish it would come back – it was interesting.

Catching back up…

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve made any sort of post here. So much for the daily posting goal. But, I have a good reason. I recently found out that I will be moving off to Arizona to continue my education in an entirely unrelated field to photography. (It’s cognitive science if you care.) So, thanks to this sudden change in my life I pretty much let this go for a bit.

Well, back to the photography.

I used this plant’s flowers a year ago in a shoot that I still have yet to edit. Truth be told, I thought the idea was cool – but the way I implemented the shoot was, less than that. So for the next year I very surprisingly did not kill this plant. It decided to actually do quite well and produce a total of 5 buds, and it’s still growing a sixth. So I set out to take pictures of it as it grew. I have a lot and I’ll occasionally throw some up – but I do enjoy this picture, even though I’m not that much into floral photography.
