Some good times…

So, it’s been a fun adventure starting up a studio in Az. At least I’ve found some great models to work with. Below is the first of a stream of photos I’m pretty proud of.

A long ago shoot

I’d worked on this shoot a long time ago, late 2009 I think, and I hadn’t really revisited it till the other night. I’d like to do more of these but must first find a model willing to do it…

Site Maintenance

Well, I tried to be diligent and commit to routine maintenance on my site but it has backfired. Apparently one of the small files that’s incredibly important never backed up correctly for my blog. The backups themselves are incompatible with the new blog software so now I’m stuck rebuilding. So…just bear with me while I go through this little growing pain. Hopefully it’ll be useful again sometime soon. Blah.

Sedona…

In a rare chance to explore more of Arizona I made it up to Sedona to hike in a river. I’d say along – but for the most of it I was hopping from boulder to rock to tree spanning the river to boulder (while precariously carrying my equipment). It was all good fun times and I was able to grab this shot while standing in the middle of the river on a very small rock with water splashing at my feet. At least only my socks were wettened in the making of picture.

Campus

It’s been a bit since I’ve posted up an image so I guess its time to do it again.

I’ve been amazed at how the desert changes throughout the year from drab to drab to drab to color to drab…etc. Occasionally, during those colorful moments, there is something worth looking at. Hopefully I captured it.

Late night fun

Pretty much just as suggested. It was 2am, and I thought “This could be fun!” So…here it is:

Sedona

Ah, the joys of completely forgetting about the blog for a month. You’d think I have a plethora of pictures to show – but I don’t. Just a few.

This image comes from hiking at Bell Rock in the Coconino National Forest. I kind of like how a tree is randomly growing out of a rock.

Starry Night…

So I went to Carlsbad, with the sole intention of watching the bats and taking random shots. I walked around for a bit trying to take pics of signs, cacti, and pretty much anything else and not much was coming out for me. I haven’t gone into the caves yet – but that’ll be for another post. So nothing was coming out till on a whim I aimed upwards at the sky. I got this:

This gives me another area of photography to explore.

Wow, it’s been a while

I didn’t realize it’s been over a month since I’ve posted. That’s unfortunate.

Another realization I’ve had is that I haven’t seen the Polka-dot wasp moth this year. It was a rather interesting creature. At first I mistook it for a rather exotic and potentially hazardous wasp – but upon further investigation it was just a harmless day living moth. I wish it would come back – it was interesting.

A new path..

So, I’m going to another school for more education and will eventually curse the decision up until I get the piece of paper that says “Dr. Champion”. But – until then I should have some pretty awesome desert pictures over the next few years.

This picture is actually of my new school. I thought the concept and design of the school was really interesting and I think this makes an awesome scene.
